Bringing an in-person poverty experience online when COVID changed how people could gather.

Created a new mobile and desktop experience that brought ThinkTank’s existing in-person Cost of Poverty Experience into a virtual format in response to COVID.
Virtual COPE helps individuals and organizations better understand poverty and learn from people making the journey out of it. The facilitated, 90-minute experience integrates simulation, videos, discussion, and debriefing through Zoom.
Participants make difficult decisions and work together to complete tasks across one simulated week. ThinkTank describes events supporting up to 120 participants, with the ability to add concurrent events.
The application supported Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows, using Firebase Authentication, Firestore, and Firebase Storage.
